Back from Long Island

#1. Swim in the ocean.

Well, ok, it wasn't like the Jersey Shore and it might have been the LI Sound, not the actual Atlantic Ocean, but close enough!! What it was was extremely reminiscent of times as a kid, going to Fire Island in my Grampy's boat, with Nana and all of us in the water, sandwiches sitting on towels in the sand, iced tea from a cooler, and family. It was awesome.

#14. Knit a dress.

I started the dress! Not much done yet, but the first stitches were cast on. :-)

#34. Pictures of me with 5o family members/friends. Again - a start was made.

My sister, Pat.

My brother-in-law, Bob

My step-father, Ed, and my mom.

#17 - go to a convention.

Tomorrow, I get onto a bus to go to NJ and meet up with my friend, Betsey. Then, on to the Dark Shadows convention! Whoot! Pictures next week.

Plans Within Plans...

So - #17. Attend a convention.

I'm signed up for the Dark Shadows Festival for the weekend of August 19-21st, including the banquet on Sunday night. Jonathan Frid and David Selby will be there! Betsey (Duchess Sedalia for the SCAdians out there) will be going with me.

I have also acquired yarn for #14 - Knit a dress. The pattern is Kiloran by Cirilia Rose (The Twist Collective website).

The yarn is KnitPicks "gloss" - 70% Merino, 30% silk, in a deep reddish purple with a bright gold for the lace insert.

I am also taking the quilt project (#19) along to my mom's when I go visit next week, so hopefully I will get some work done on that. And my How To Be A Business Goddess workbook, to work on #'s 26-28 (the business idea). I've acquired a used book to start designing for #23 - Zoave Steampunk - again, while I am away.

And hopefully work on #31 - turning the dining room space into a crafting room, while Steve is away this weekend.

Phew! Lots of steps being taken!
